not sure how this works

how can i play a playlist from the music player and stil get lyrics from the ID3? should i add a list of songs and then play song advancing one song at a time?

Very good app

Well this is the answer to iTunes not displaying lyrics in iPad since the 5.0 update. Few minor irritations but after much searching this seems to be the only app to display editable lyrics.

Great but for one problem!

I use my iPhone to study Japanese so for language studying if you use podcasts with lyrics embedded, this app is great. You can change the font to your liking to read the text easier. But theres NO PAUSE button! Please fix this error soon!

Works fine, but....

I too use this for foreign language podcast learning and find the center justified text somewhat difficult to follow. Is it not possible to allow the text to be left justified...?

Poor design

You cant turn off shuffle or repeat, no landscape menu, the lyrics overlap the menus, and no option for multiple rows on the ipads bigger screen.

Very Frustrating!

I just downloaded Lyrics View and was very pleased to find something that would access the lyrics embedded in my iPad and allow me to view them while the song was playing. However, now that Ive worked with it a bit Im very frustrated. Pressing the music icon sends one to Songs and there is no way to switch it so that it displays Artists or Albums instead by default. Also, it doesnt play all the songs on the album, and its hard to select the song you want to play. In the original iPad music app, the album plays through automatically, and you can highlight a song and then play it immediately. With Lyrics View a song is highlighted but often a different one plays. If you press the forward or backward button the music stops, and then pressing the play arrow results in a song from an unrelated album playing. An additional issue is that the control panel bar obscures the first few lines of the lyrics, unless you press the screen, and the title of the song isnt displayed. Also, what do the blue plus signs by each song mean, and why does it continue to offer Add All when all songs have already been added? There needs to be a manual or a help page to guide the user. Pauser Pro, although not without its own frustrations, seems to be a better app for the purpose.

Works great for me

I became pretty frustrated and disappointed when my new iPad OS took away the ability to look at lyrics on iTunes. I put a lot of work into finding lyrics for my songs. Now with Lyrics View that capability has been restored. That, and taking away the frustration and disappointment Is well worth the small fee. And it works fine for my purpose of just viewing the lyrics of the song selected in iTunes.

Highly recommended

It does exactly whay it says, it looks so far that all bugs mention in other reviews have been fixed. Great answer to what apple did wrong to all music lovers in ios 5. it is even better than the display used to be in music. Great app for the price. Great to have my lyrics back again.

Was a great app.... Till they rewrote it requiring IOS 6.0!

Was a great app for my iPad 1, until they updated it to require IOS 6.0... Which my iPad cant do. Glad I didnt pay good money for this! Guess its time to look for another friendlier lyrics app!

Display Problems Keep This App From Being The Answer to My Prayers - CORRECTED W/ v2.0!!!

Ever since Apple took away the ability to display lyrics from a songs ID3 tags in the Music app in iOS 5, I have been searching for a simple app that will do that and only that on my 2nd Gen iPad - display ID3 tag lyrics. I dont want or need to be able to search for the lyrics on the Internet - I have already painstakingly done that on my Mac in iTunes & copied them to the songs ID3 tags. This app does exactly what I want. BUT, display problems prevent this app from being the answer to my prayers. When the lyrics are displayed, the beginning & end of the lyrics are off of the top & bottom of the display - it is as if the display is centered on the middle of the lyrics. And, oftentimes, you cannot touch & drag to scroll them - the display is locked on the middle of the lyrics. Or, if you can touch & drag the display to scroll to the top or bottom of the lyrics, you have to drag & hold - if you lift your finger from the screen, the display "pops" back to the middle of the lyrics. Both of these problem occur no matter what font size is selected, or what display color. This would seem to be an easy fix & I have e-mailed the developer asking him to PLEASE look into this. If this one critical defect can be fixed, this app would be perfect for my needs & worthy of a 5-star rating in my opinion… ------------------------------------------------------------- UPDATE for v2.0: Yes! All the display problems I mentioned above have been corrected in v2.0 and this app now works perfectly on my iPad 2. Finally, the app I have been looking for! Thanks to the developer for this release!!!

Was good

Since I updated it the app dont work at all something is wrong please fix it.

This was a waste of money!

It did not work for me! I press the music note and then added the songs and still no lyrics showed up! After pressing forward through all the songs the playlist went blank! so once again I added the songs and again still NO lyrics showed up as the songs played and the list went blank and the end! What a waste of money!

Does the job

This does not enable the native ipad Music app to display lyrics the way it is supposed to (as used to be the case when I had an iPod). Instead you access your library through the Lyrics View app and select whatever songs you have previously entered lyrics into (generally via the iTunes computer app). LV creates a temporary playlist with songs in the order selected. You cant see the playlist, but can skip back and forth between these chosen songs. Hitting the skip back button during the first song evaporates the list, however. Otherwise it performs well.

About time to have lyrics on the iPad

I am able to view lyrics and album covers that are embedded in my music files on an iPod Touch, but for some reason Apple is purposely not adding this feature to the iPad. Thanks for making it happen. If you bring album covers that are in my music files onto the screen with and without the lyrics, I will upgrade my review. It is so great to SEE the words as you hear them.

Waste of money

If I have to tag my songs in iTunes on my desktop and either type or copy the lyrics in for each song then why pay. I will post on Facebook the specifics on this app so my friends know not to buy.

Would be nice to be able to paste in lyrics

Nice concept, but frustrated that there is no way to paste in the lyrics for songs that dont have proper tagging.

Gets the job done simply

I was searching for a lightweight app that simply displays the lyrics of the song currently playing. This app does that. Its killer feature: the ability to change the font and scale up the size of the text. It has a quirky interface: by default, you have to add songs to an invisible playlist. This is more of a hindrance than a feature. To get around this annoyance, you can simply select and play a song in the iOS Music app and then switch to Lyrics View. Lyrics View will then display the lyrics of the current song.

Great App

Works as advertised. To address the user who complained about having to copy lyrics that is how this app works. If you want Song ID get Soundhound for free. For me a lot of my music is not available on Song ID cause of Copyright so they redirect you to AZ lyrics or something of the sort. It winds up taking about 10 seconds and the song as already begun and then you have to switch between apps to control the music player. All I did was download "Get Lyrical" on my MAC and it embedded all 3000 of my lyrics into my songs overnight in 6 hours and the minimal 2K worth of extra space it takes in the song is trivial. Now I can even view my lyrics on the airplane. I can also view them in iTunes Info tab and I downloaded Widget for my MAC for 99 cents and can view them in Yosemite Notification center.

HD

Excellent app, unbelievably under priced.
